White Zircons do not really look like much when they are rough, but when they are faceted they are stunning. That is why white Zircons were use as a Diamond look alike for the last several hundred years. Large white Zircons are not all that common rough because most of them are already cut for the retail jewelry market.

Note: The water worn rinds on these stones often make them look like they have slight color, but usually it is just the oxides on the rind, the stones are clear. Many of these are hand cleaned and preformed.

Note2: This material has been hand cleaned and preformend in many cases. If you are not familiar with this material rough, be aware that there is usually a very significant amount of this material with flaws and fissures. It is not unusual to loose 30-50% of the weight during cleaning of this rough. If you buy it uncleaned expect to have significant clarity problems and it is very difficult to tell clarity before actually grinding a window to see inside this rough. Also the clarity issues are often hidden and very difficult to work out as well as can become worse during cleaning. Once cleaned there is seldom any problem cutting this material.
