Magenta Rubellite Tourmaline - $75 to $200/carat
Locality: Mozambique, Africa

 

This material is very rare material and from the copper bearing region that is producing such nice Tourmaline. The trade name is often called "Fusia". The colors range from bi color watermellon to very hot pink to red hot purple/magenta color. This material is about as bright and hot a color of Ruballite as I have ever seen.

This material is pretty much all clean, and the picture hardly does the real color of this material justice. The colors are very intense and strong.

Note: This material is from the region/mine where they are finding copper bearing material, and maybe copper bearing. But I have not tested it in a lab so I do not know...

Blue/Green Tourmaline - $150/carat
Locality: Nigeria, Africa

 

This material is very rare and difficult to get. The cryatsls are clean, with the exception of a ding in the rind once and a while. The color of this material is top quality and saturation is medium to medium/light, which as good as it gets in Tourmaline. I have very rarely ever seen this quality of color.

Afghanistan Tourmaline - $40 to $100/carat
Locality: Afghanistan

This is top quality and color. I very seldom even see anything rough this good. This is medium saturation and the "c" is open, however because of the size of the crystals it is darker/dark (same color). This material is ideal for "Smith Bars" and Emerald cuts of some type because of the color saturation and crystal shapes.

Note: The color of this rough is richer amd more intense in person, the rough will look a little darker until you look through it (it is under lighting in the picture). There is also a slight color shift depending on the lighting.

Stewart Hot Pink Tourmaline - $10 to $30/carat
Locality: California, USA

This is for the Tourmaline collector, Stewart Tourmaline this color is just plain rare. The material is on decent size for this mine, 3-8cts, and lightly included (which is pretty normal). The "c" axis is the hot color, but for yields, the a/b cuts a slightly lighter colored stone. Any good design works...
