Large Sky Blue Topaz - $1.75/carat
Locality: Marambaia, BrazilThis material is what is referred as "Sky Blue" and is really a nice medium/light blue to light blue and will cut nice stones. This material is all clean and and make ideal Barions. This material actually looks more natural to me when it is cut than the other more electric colors of Topaz.

Sky Blue Topaz - $0.60 to $1.25/carat

These are sawed clean, but not really preformed much and are ideal for a new cutter who has not cut Topaz before, but does have at least a few stones under their belt. Topaz should not be one of a new cutters first stones. It can be problematic to work with sometimes, although usually not a problem.

Note: Some dealers try to compare Sky Blue to Sierra blue, this is miss leading. There is one color shade between the two colors and frankly if the material some dealers are calling Sky Blue was really Sierra blue... they would be selling it as Sierra blue. They are not being truthful and trying to confuse the issue. All Topaz because it is basically man-made is graded very well and there is significant color as well as price differences in the grades.
