Sierra Blue Topaz - $1.25 to $1.50/carat
Locality: Marambaia, Brazil
![]()
These are sawed clean, but not really preformed much and are ideal for a new cutter who has not cut Topaz before, but does have at least a few stones under their belt. Topaz should not be one of a new cutters first stones. It can be problematic to work with sometimes, although usually not a problem.
This material what is referred to as "Sierra Blue" and better color than Swiss Blue. This material is all clean and and make ideal Barions.
Note: Sky Blue and Sierra blue are not the same color. Sky blue is lighter shade and a lower grade color (less expensive) than Sierra Blue.
If you have question about the color grading of blue Topaz I have the definitions on the Topaz Index page.
