This is colorless man-made Quartz. A majority of cutting contests like the USFG and others call for Quartz as the material required for the contests. Natural or man-made Quartz is usually exceptable for the contests. But most contest cutters use man-made Quartz because it is more predictable and does not have flaws and/or crystal imperfections (like chevrons) that natural Quartz often does.
