Locality: USAHere is an article on cutting Sapphires, take a look... Cutting Sapphires - "Simple Heart"

I really do not cut man-made material very often, but a lot of people do, and I have to admit the finished stones are often very pretty.
This is the color of a top quality "Burma Ruby", I sure wish I could find them in this size natural. This material is made in the USA. Sapphire needs to be polished with diamonds, these colors can be cut in just about any design.
Although tempting because of price and color, I do not recommend this material for a new cutter, it is a bit tough to cut and polish for a novice.
