I really do not cut man-made material very often, but a lot of people do, and I have to admit the finished stones are often very pretty.

This is the top "Ceylon Blue Sapphire" color that is about the best there is in a natural stone. This material is made in the USA. Sapphire needs to be polished with diamonds, these colors can be cut in just about any design.

Note: The color of the blue seems to be a little zoned on some of this material. The rind tends to be bluer than the center of the boule, so you may need to orientate your stones a little bit. It does vary and is pretty typical of the blue (also orange and a few others) colors.

Although tempting because of price and color, I do not recommend this material for a new cutter, it is a bit tough to cut and polish for a novice.
