Rose Quartz in an interesting material to work with and if good judgement is used in style and design choice Rose Quaqrtz can be very attractive and actually quite a collector material. It is all in how you use Rose Quartz. The delicate to strong pink color is rarely avilable in any other natural gem rough. So it is worth learning how to cut and work with rose Quartz.

Rose Quartz - $.60 to $4/carat
Locality: Madagascar

This is a nice pink/rose color, the material will not cut a very bright stone because it is a little silky, which is typical of the material. Sometimes the silk needs to be orientated perpendicular to the table so that it will not show, other than that it cuts like any other Quartz. Best cuts for this material are beads, high domes and briolets. As a note of interest, some of this material will cab into stars.

Facet Rose Quartz Parcels - $1.00/carat
Locality: Africa

This is a nice light pink material. It looks a lot like Morganite Beryl at first glance because of the clarity. But there is a very tiny bit of silk in this material and it can be a lillte sleepy. Although this is some of the brightest and clear Rose Quartz there is available.

Note: I have gone through this material, but NOT hand cleaned it, there will be some silk strands and a few flaws here and there.
