Ametrine Chunks - $1.00/ct to $5.00/ct
Locality: Bolivia, South America

Note: Some of this rough has 50/50 color divides and some does not. If the color zones are mixed... This material is called "Blended" in the trade. The effects of the colors mixing can be stunning and they make a very unusual stone.

The saturation and color zones of this rough does vary, read the descriptions. I like this material in about any design, but I am partial to deep checker boards and Barions if the colors are medium/light in saturation. On darker rough shallow depth checker boards work very well. Also many of my "Money Cuts" and "Mirage Cuts" are ideal for Ametrine. Last but not least, some of this material because of size and color makes gorgeous faceted beads.

Color Saturations - As I have noted Ametrine generally is light to medium in color saturation. There is some rough that is what I would call "Extra Color". This material is a lot like the Uruguayan Amethyst/Citrine that is graded as "Extra Color". It is darker in saturation and more intense in color.

Note: None of the Ametrine is as super dark and intense as some of the Uruguayan Amethyst/Citrine gets on occasion. As some of you may know, all Bolivian Quartz's tend to be in the light to medium saturation range and they are idea for large stones.
