Peridot

This material has been clipped. It is pretty clean but there may be some typical type of sopts in some. This is mixed color and all decent. Sizes runs 2 to 10 carats, average is probably about 3 to 6 carats. Most of this rough will cut 1+ carat or so... Note there are a few small peices in the mix.

Currently Available:
25 carats @ $125.00 ($5/carat)
50 carats ansd up @ $200.00 ($4/carat)

Peridot Peridot - $60 to $100/carat
Locality: Afghan

This is as good as it gets guys... Top color apple green and top sizes as well.

Large clean Peridot is always tough to come by and finding anything clean at all is getting very difficult.

Franlky there is almost no Peridot around that is clean.

In these sizes? This is all I have seen...

So if you want some, I would say do not hesitate too long here.

Peridot

This material very difficult to get clean and takes an expert to both buy and clean it. Believe me this material in the rough and uncleaned is one of the toughest stones to grade there is and can be a real challenge.

I strongly recommend against anyone buying Peridot raw/uncleaned unless they really know what they are doing, or the mateial is inexpensive and being considered a learning experience.

That being said... These peices are hand cleaned and will cut georgous stones. The color is medium bright apple green. This material is considered the best Peridot with the possible exception of an occasional piece of San Carlos AZ material.

Note: The apple green color in this parcel is absolutely the top color and most Peridot is not this color.

PeridotPeridot - $0.70/carat
Locality: Vietnam

This material is mixed and basically poured out of a bag.

This is mine run and some will cut clean stones and some of these pieces will cut included stones.

This is from an unusual source... Vietnam.

The color is actually very similar to the Afghan Peridot and if mixed I doubt any one could tell them apart with the naked eye. As you can see the pieces are not small, the material probably averages 1-2 grams some larger and some smaller.

This material at this price is really a deal and even with inclusions, which some of it will have, it cuts a nice checker board cut and faces up a bright stone. While it last, random pours...

Peridot - $8 to $30/carat
Locality: Ethiopia, Africa

Peridot

This material is fairly difficult to get clean and is generally not large. The color is a nice light apple green. This Peridot has the same basic color tone of Afghan material but is in general a shade to several shades lighter than most other types of Peridot. This material cuts a very nice light apple green stone and can be mistaken for nice mint Tourmaline when cut if you do not know what it is.
