Odds & Ends

From time to time I have pieces of rough that are left over from large parcels. Or pieces of rough that for one reason or another do not fit into my regular rough pages or categories.

This page is basically where I am posting any one of a kind rough, or parcels of rough that are just too small to put on a page of their own.

The rough listed here will usually be clean and often just odd shapes, color, or types that I cannot list any where else. Be sure and read the descriptions of the rough or parcel. On a lot of these parcels and pieces I am not going to post a picture. It is not worth my time to do so.

Note: The pricing on this rough is often going to be "Parcel" and quite reasonable. Read the descriptions. The rough will be as described.

Dravite Tourmaline - $2/carat
Locality: Kenya, Africa

The color of this material is a yellow/gold/orange to yellow/green depending on the axis. The material will all cut pretty clean, many will cut flawless, some will have some spots in them. But almost all of them are cuttable and will make good stones. It is priced accordingly.

Citrine Crystsal Points - $0.40/carat
Locality: Uruguay

This material is all smaller crystal points. As you can see the color is great. The material is pretty clean, an occasional spot or some thing, but quite good. size ranges from 1.5 carats to 2.5 carats average. There are a few larger pieces.... This material is ideal for cutting accent stones.

Peridot
Locality: Ethiopia

This pretty nice material. I have not cleaned it... there are some spots in a few.

Amethyst - $0.50/carat
Locality: Zambia

This material cuts very interesting stones. It does have color zones and some will cut solid color and some pieces will cut very interesting zoned stones. This material is not cleaned, so there are some feathers and flaws, but the price is very cheap and this material is great faceting for the money. Most of these stones will cut clean and good color is orientated and handled properly. This is just an old odd parcel I had, when this is gone that is all there is...

Locality: Mozambique

These are nice cutting and good general cutting. They are points from crystals I cleaned. These are basically watermelon.

These are nice cutting and good general cutting. There is an occasional spot/feather but this is fairly clean and the colors while it has a few zones are really nice.

Mombo Rhodolite -$2 to $4/carat
Locality: South Africa

This Rhodolite is nice, it comes from the Mombo mining region in Tanzania. The colors range from red/pink, red/pink/purple, red/pink/peach. As a general rule this material is a little more red to peach than most other Rhodolite Garnet. This material typically has carbon spots, bubbles and a little silk.

Tourmaline - $4/carat
Locality: Nigeria

The color of this material is all natural and blue/green to yellow/green. Some of these will cut clean some will not. These are all open "c" axis and it is the yellow/green slightly darker direction. This is good Tourmaline practice at the price.

This material is light to pale in color, and all pretty clean except for some bubbles.

Locality: Tanzania

The color of this material is all yellow to yellow/gold to pale yellow. NO honey or brown. This material is clean, there maybe an occasional spot, but basically quite nice material.

1 parcel 399.0 carats $125.00 - 34 stones - Average stone size is 11.73 carats - These are all light to medium in color and these pieces are odds and end cuts. This is all pretty much clean but there are thin ones. It is priced accordingly.

Dravite Tourmaline - $1/carat

The color of this material is a yellow/gold/orange. The material is all pretty clean and will work well for accent stones. It is priced accordingly.
