Helidore (yellow/green/gold Beryl) - $3 to $40/carat

Shown above is a 6.7mm x 9.1mm x 7.4 mm deep - 2.44 carat "Maiden's Cross" cut from peice of Afghanistan yellow/green Beryl.

 

This Beryl is an unusual medium yellow with green almost lime highlights to a yellow/gold. This material occasionally has a bubble or piece of silk, but has been "hand cleaned" so is very clean. In a lot of cases the some of these peices of rough have been pre-formed.This beryl is best cut in a Barion or other deep design, it cuts like normal Beryl, and it can be slightly heat sensitive.

Note: Yellow Beryl is some times irradiated, I have no idea on this material.
