Nigerian Seafoam Aquamarine (Beryl) $6 to $50/carat
Locality: Nigeria, Africa

These stones are from a different mine in Nigeria and as you can see the crystals are different as well as the colors. This material is pretty difficult to get because as you can see it is unheated seafoam color as well as a few pieces of blue. The vast majority of Aquamarine material is heated.

The colors of this material are much softer and more subtle than heated material, which is just blue. There is of course more of a blue/green hue to this rough (heating removes the green) and this color is what I think of as more sea blue/green, or true Aquamarine color.

Note: This material has been hand cleaned and many of them are preforms.

Nigerian Blue Aquamarine (Beryl) $6 to $30/carat

This material is what I would call medium to medium/light color blue, or basically a nice baby blue to light blue. This material will work very well in about any design, but I recommend Barions to help improve color. This rough has the size for Barions and will be stunning and is very good cutting for about anyone that wants to try Aquamarine.
