What is my opinion on laps? What do I use?

60 Diamond......(extra, extra coarse) - $269.00 - Sale $215.20

360 Diamond.....(medium coarse) - Not Stocked (This lap I do not recommend, the 260 grit lap when worn in cuts basically like a 360 gtrit)

Solid steel laps are by far the flattest you can buy. These laps are more money to start with than some of the topper/thin plate type of laps, but they are just a lot better over all to facet with.

Note: The 360 grit lap when it wears a little basically cuts like and 600 grit lap and I think ity is better to buy a 260 grit lap for coarse work and a 600 grit for the finer cutting. The 3000 laps is tender and will not take abuse, so it is not good for anyone that is heavy handed.

Jeff's Notes: Flatness counts most in the fine grits like 1200 and 600, so if you are trying to save money buy a cheaper coarse grit lap and spend your money on a quality fine lap.
