Note: I try to stock these laps, but due to supply problems and unpredictable demand I may be out of stock. Crystallite typically is running 4-6 weeks minimium (often longer) on about any thing I order from them.

1200 Diamond Sintered - $441.00 - Sale $363.20Above Right: Pictured is a close up of the edge of a 1200 sintered lap. The brass layer is the base, the gray/steele is the sintered diamond compound. As you can see the diamond layer is quite deep.
Note: A sintered lap is slightly thinner than a standard steel plated lap.
Because of the way business and pricing on lapidary products has become, I as a dealer will no longer warrantee any of these products. The pricing of these products makes it impossible for me to provided warrantee customer service on them. I will of course offer any aid and advice that I can on products, but for all warrantee services you will need to contact the manufacturers.
All Crystalite products must be returned for warrantee directly to the manufacturer.
Crystalite claims that their quality is all very high and that they do not have any problems. So if you do have a problem, call them directly. Here is their number 1-740-548-4100
I ship all Crystalite laps unopened. If you open a new Crystalite laps and see any problems or issues repackage the lap in question and ship it directly to Crystalite for Warrantee.
Note: Always inspect the laps before use. If you see a problem ship the lap to Cryastalite. It is my opinion that Crystalite will not warrantee a lap that has been used. So do not use any lap that you think may have a problem.
Crystalite/Crystalmet sintered laps are made using their proprietary bonding formulation. These laps are primarily manufactured for the lapidary industry (people in business that cut a lot of stones).
These laps are made to provide an excellent finish, long life and and aggressive cutting action. These laps are not plated, the diamonds are mixed solidly through out the lap and bonded by Crystalite's proprietary method.
Jeff's Notes: These laps are on the expensive side, but like most things in life you will get what you pay for. I generally would not recommend these laps for most hobby faceters, they are just more then most people will ever need. However, if you are a person that cuts a fair amount of stones like a serious hobby cutter, in the lapidary business, or can just afford the best then these laps may be for you.
I especially like and recommend the 1200 sintered lap. The 600 and 120 sintered lap I do not use much. There are no real drawbacks to these laps except for their price. Sintered laps do take a little getting used to because the cutting action of these laps is a bit different than normal plated laps.
The only thing I know to watch out for when using these laps (like all laps really) is to be sure and sweep the face of the lap so that you wear it evenly. Because sintered laps are bonded solid diamonds, if you only work in certain spots on the lap (any lap, on a plated lap you would just wear through the plating) you can over wear a low spot or groove, over a long period of time.
